    When you arrive at our spa in Nutley, you will first be greeted with drinks and treats to help you unwind and a welcome kit that includes our detailed pricing. Next, one of our experts will meet you and closely examine your hair and skin. Finally, our team will take the time to understand your concerns in detail and will help draw out the perfect and most lucrative treatment plan to help you achieve all your goals. 

  • Procedure

    You will be seated in a comfortable chair in our luxurious salon while one of our experts creates the perfect look for you. Our experts will constantly keep you informed about what they are doing, and you can feel free to ask them any questions or address any doubts that you may have. Most of our clients have a tranquil experience while our team works on their hair and skin.

  • Aftercare

    Once your procedure is complete, our expert will give you detailed instructions on how you can continue to care for your hair and skin. Our team will also educate you on other products and services that can help you maintain your gorgeous tresses long after you leave our salon. You can also book your next appointment with us before leaving.

Unlike other hair extensions, Great Lengths is 100% virgin hair sourced directly from India to provide an unmatched texture, thickness, and natural color, making it the perfect fit for Caucasian and European hair textures. 


    Additionally, Great Lengths does not use any chemicals such as ammonia or bleach during the colorization process that can damage their hair and be toxic.   • What certifications do Great Lengths hair stylists have?

    The team at Fringe Artistic Salon & Spa is committed to offering industry-leading services that our clients will love pampering themselves with, which is why we go above and beyond when it comes to learning new techniques and knowledge to perfect our craft. 


    Therefore, to be a Great Lengths stylist, you must first undergo intensive training that prepares our salon specialists in installing and removing hair extensions with precision. This helps us ensure that your natural hair and Great Lengths hair extensions do not experience any damage, so you can experience the results of longer, thicker hair for months on end. 

  • What are Lost Artistry Lashes® eyelash extensions made of?

    Lost Artistry Lashes® eyelash extensions are a type of semi-permanent lash extensions made of a strong, synthetic polyester making them more durable than other lash extensions used by salons so they can last longer between appointments. 


    Additionally, synthetic polymer lash extensions are less likely to cause an allergic reaction than other lash extension materials. Each lash extension is crafted with precision to mimic your individual lashes for a natural finish that is perfectly curled for a stunning result. 


    At Fringe Artistic Salon & Spa, we utilize three different lash thicknesses that your professional lash expert will customize to your natural lashes for a safe application that lasts before your next appointment.

  • How long do Lost Artistry Lashes® eyelash extensions last?

    To maintain the original look of your Lost Artistry Lashes® eyelash extensions, we recommend clients book their refill appointments every 4 – 5 weeks. Depending on the growth cycle of your natural lashes, which is generally around 60 to 90 days, clients will experience approximately 1 to 5 lash extensions falling out each day as your natural lashes shed as well. 


    Therefore, when you begin noticing sparse spots on your lash line, you should book your appointment to ensure you maintain your results as effectively as possible. However, this is a personal preference as some clients are not as bothered by sparse areas on their lash line as others, so they book their appointments after the 5-week mark.

  • What to expect at your appointment

    We want you to still be able to relax and enjoy your salon visit, safe in the knowledge that we have put in place the strictest health and safety measures to ensure everyone’s safety and wellbeing.


    Consultation:

    Every service begins with a personalized consultation to learn about your own personal hair. Please arrive with inspirational pictures. What you describe and what we hear can be two different things. 


    In determining your individual treatment, we value the health of your hair above all else. We will always discuss your hair’s condition and we will never provide a service to compromise the integrity of your hair. Some services may need more than one session.


    Relax and Refresh- Relax and take the opportunity to take a break from the outside world and treat yourself to well-deserved ‘me-time’. Our wonderful teams are still here to welcome you, share a chat and some smiles, and to get your hair back in tip top condition.

    Our aim is to design hair to suit a client’s lifestyle and show them at their beautiful best – this is why we give a deep consultation with every client on every occasion. It enables us to fully understand what look they would like to achieve.

  • What happens in I am a 'No-show' or cancel the same day?

    We require a card hold for all guests booking a new reservation. 


    Fringe Artistic Salon and Spa  is serious about your look. Adequate time is needed for consulting, so please arrive a few minutes earlier than your scheduled services.


    Per our policy, Fringe Artistic Salon and Spa  requires 48 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule an appointment. In the event that you are in the 48 hour window of your reservation, fringe artistic salon will charge a cancellation fee based on the duration of your appointment.


    If you are arriving late, please note that, we may have to cancel your reservation and reschedule you for a later date. Our cancellation policy will apply.

  • What happens if I am late for my appointment?

    We greatly appreciate when you arrive on time, however we do acknowledge that you may run late due to circumstances beyond your control.


    If you happen to be late for your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible. This is so that we can make any adjustments needed to keep you and your stylist on schedule. 


    In order to keep up with appointments we do have a 15 minute grace period should you run late to your appointment. 


    We typically try to accommodate late arriving guests, however it’s not always possible to give a late arriving guest their entire appointment time. This may result in the need to reschedule, especially if the guest is more than 15 minutes late. This may also result in being charged a 50% rescheduling fee.

  • Why do different stylists charge different prices for services?

    Our stylists bring specific experience and expertise to Fringe. To reflect that, we have a tiered fee structure. Price+ indicates the base price for that particular tier and service and may increase taking into account certain variables such as the amount of product used, hair length/type, service duration, etc.


    Stylists' prices are based on their industry experience, the amount of advanced education they have obtained and time of demand. Our stylists are on a level based system.


    In general, you pay more for experience and advanced training. Feel free to request a stylist in the price range you are comfortable with. We have someone for everyone!

  • Can I change my hairstylist?

    Our team shares clients. We look to provide convenient availability and appointments to meet your needs. Please feel free to schedule with any service provider you would like, we won’t get our feelings hurt.


    You won’t hurt anyone’s feelings when you decide to make a change. Sometimes a change is what you need, and we hope that when you do make a change, you make a change of service providers within our salon, and not a change of salons.

    Your previous stylist will still talk to you, smile at you and will not be offended. You are family to us!

  • How long will my color last?

    If you use high quality products (shampoos, conditioners, and styling aids) specifically designed for colored hair,your hair color should last from 4 to 8 weeks, with 5 to 6 being typical.That’s a big range, but the variance has to do with your tolerance for fading, how often you wash your hair, how hot the water is and how much you’re in the sun.


    It’s a sad but true fact that reds have less longevity because of the unusual shape of the molecule.


    Color works by depositing molecules of pigment in your hair shaft and unfortunately they eventually fade.


    Water is the main culprit, but if you use inexpensive shampoos with detergents, your hair color will only last one to three weeks. An inexpensive shampoo can strip out your color in as little as one washing. Our stylists along with the high standards of the products used to create beautiful color, will maintain as well as enhance the integrity of your hair, resulting in healthier longer lasting color. This is why it is important to purchase products in our salon recommended by your stylist.

  • Payment and gratuity

    We accept American Express, Discover, Master Card, Visa and Cash. We do not accept personal checks, and gratuities may  be added to credit card sales.


    Please understand that we do not offer refunds on services rendered. However, we are committed to doing everything in our power to guarantee your satisfaction. We offer up to 72 hours for us to render any issues you had complimentary.

  • Haircut and blowout services

    There is no difference between a trim and a haircut. 


    We know you hate to hear this, but a “trim” that removes one quarter inch takes just as long as a haircut that removes ten inches. When asked if you’ll be receiving a haircut with color, some guests will respond “no, I just need a trim”.


    All of our haircuts come with a complimentary blow dry. 


    Please note that a blow-out is not included in our color-only services. When receiving color-only services, please be sure to schedule a blow-out as an additional service if you would like a stylist to complete your look.

  • What should I do if I am not happy?

    We do not offer refunds, so please tell us if you are not happy with your results.


    All of us at Fringe Artistic Salon & Spa will take your concerns and improve upon them ,but you must please tell us. We make it a point to go out of our way to make our guests happy and when someone isn’t,we will do whatever it takes to correct the situation.


    You are paying for a service, and we want to make sure you feel that it was worth every penny. Please believe us when we tell you that we consider it a favor when you inform us if your services in any way did not meet your expectations. We offer up to 72 hours for us to render any issues you had complimentary.

  • Where should I park?

    We have a parking lot on the right side of our building we share with Dana Automobile. Any of the side streets are available as well.

  • Lashes (before you arrive)

    Give yourself time.


    Allow 90 minutes to 2 hours for your first appointment.


    TIP: If you have lash extensions on currently, please let us know so we can schedule additional time for a lash removal service.

    Get ready to relax.


    Avoid caffeine before your appointment, as it can make it difficult to lie still during the application process.


    Arrive with a fresh face.


    Remove all eye makeup. Avoid using sunscreen or moisturizers. Don't curl your lashes. Do not wear mascara to your lash appointment.


    TIP: Try not to use waterproof mascara 2-3 days prior to your appointment, since it can leave a residue that can prevent extensions from adhering correctly.


    Lose your lenses.

    Wear glasses or remove your contact lenses prior to your application.
